Is there any chance of this? I currently have videos spread across 6 drives. It is really hard to find the movies when you have to navigate through all the directories in the stock video plug-in. I could try to move them around to put them in some order (like alphabetically) but then it makes it hard to add to in the future when a drive fills up. I currently use Revens My Video plug-in which does this. However this keeps me from upgrading past 96.12 because no skins except blue support his beta for 2.0. He makes a great plug-in but I do not use any of the additional features and would like to stick to the core plug-in.

Thanks,
Jeff

Can you give Video Archive a trial with new user tab features? I also have too many folders to navigate, so I have use VA multiple users to log in different categories which will cut down the folders list, so it might work out for you.

Not really hard to span through several drives, just set them up as:

M-Drama
M-Comedy
M-Horror
M-SCI-FI

You can add graphics to each folder using folder.jpg

Video Library can handle the job well the new one in 97.13 is better than the pass versions.

I use that and Recordings...

I connect to 4 PCs hold MPEG2 media over the network.

I know it can be done this way but it makes it a little more difficult. I am currently using My Videos witch incorparates a virtual directory setup. I could reorganize them by genre or alpabetically but this makes it hard to manage in the long run when a drive fills up. Currently my moves span 6 drives and using My Videos I have them broken into 3 virtual diectories(Movies, Kids, TV Series.) Although this problem would exist regardless the other thing that makes this a little more complicated for me is that I also stream to and download from my 3 replaytv using dvarchive which causes me to add addtional directories to make catagories in the replay menu. I can do all this using the virtual directories in MY Videos. This is a great pluggin but I do not need all the addtional features and at this this time the new 2.0 beta is really not supported by any addtional skins other than blue. I could switch to blue but the real question I had was if sub had ever thought about adding this feature in the future to the core video plugin?

Thanks,
Jeff

Sounds like a reasonable request, but I'll be honest, I'm probably not going to add it for the next release. There are plenty more higher priority changes on my plate.

The video archive plug-in will group files across disks into the same list based on sub directory name (e.g., show name). I have 6 differnt disks I use for storage right now and it works very well.

Does your setup support DVD Rips as well? I have 4 external drives with DVD Rips that I cannot pull via XDVD and need another solution to play them. I don't want to convert to MPEG because I want to retain the original format in case GBPVR can support those details in the future.
