Looping static sound PVR500MCE

Every time I record I get a looping static sound in my recordings (see sample). I've tried many types of driver combos for the via chipset and for the PVR500MCE card.
I've searched and still not found a solution (thou it's hard to describe the sound to search for it). The sound only appears when recording not viewing live TV.

Any help/ideas would be great.

How about updating audio drivers for your sound card/chip?

The sound card is onboard. it's a via(3059), ALC655 driver ver 5.10.0.6120. which i belive is the latest ones. Updated them in hope of fixing the prob,but no luck.

I have fixed this problem. This is also listed as “machine gun” sound problem.

What I did was to reinstall winxp, then installed the base Hauppauge drivers ver 2043_24103 followed by GB-PVR.

Then I installed DH zer0point radon drivers ver 0.65 followed by my onboard sound drivers ver 5.10.00.6120 3.90

Thou doing this only let one of the two tuners record with sound and the other with out. (This seems to also be a known problem without a solution)

I then installed the drivers from http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=9657.0 and followed the instruction on how it’s done installing all the options.

And now it all works fine.

So I’m not really sure which step fixed my problem or whether the reinstall was necessary, but it’s working so I’m happy.
