Bad sound with PVR-350 audio?

How can I fix bad sound with PVR-350 audio input? The sound clips. It doesn't clip when I put the same audio cable into my Line-In on the sound card.

I adjusted the audio recording with the Hauppauge TweakTool. I set it to -6 dB, I think. So the clipping is gone but now I have a high-pitch noise now. It is mostly noticeable on "The Colbert Report" and on "The Daily Show", both on Comedy Central.
