Yes, if its not in the specific skin.xml, it'll check the baseskin.xml.

I'm not a GBPVR dev, but I read this entire thread with great interest and enthusiasm as it shows the process at it's best and the thought given to the ultimate 'customer', the end user (me Smile ) and opening skinning up to less experienced users (me, again) by standardizing the process. From my experience in other open source projects, I see this as crucial to skinners and devs alike.

Even though I don't have a capture device in my current setup, GBPVR is the heart of my home entertainment system and continues to win converts once they see it.

If you've ever wondered if 'it's worth all the work' or if 'anyone cares', let me tell you that I for one appreciate greatly all the hard work and I hope that one day I'll be able to give back.

Thanks guys for all the hard work!

I can see your reasoning for wanting this, so I'll add an additional constructor which can take a third requiredVersion parameter. It'll behave as you suggest above.

If this constructor is used, but the <Version> tag is not present in the skin file, it'll assume its the correct version.

As long as developers are using either of these two constructors, then I will be happy.

Was a version number ever added to SkinHelper or SkinHelper2. Adding skin version checks is turning out to be quite a pain.

I cant remember. This was a few years ago now. I have a vague recollection something was changed to support this

I'm back with in NZ with my source code in about three weeks, so bump the thread then and I'll check.

Yep - I'm out of the country for the next three weeks. I'll be online most days though.

(I was getting the shakes from the last two days without internet - internet withdrawal symptoms)
