Good evening all--

Just upgraded from ver 96 to ver 98 and have worked out most of the related errors with that. However, I'm still having one problem...when I go into XGuide, the channel grid is a bunch of rectangles filled with white. If I highlight one of those rectangles with the remote, the appropriate information displays. I've tried emptying and reloading the EPG, which fixed a problem I was having with the standard TV Guide, but did not have any effect on XGuide. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the XRecord bundle.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Bill

looks like you are getting too many shows, like you are getting 7 hours of programming, and all the shows are compressed so the border is all you see. never used xguide, but is there a setting for number of hours to get listings for?

That is a Genre bug in the plugin.

edit the skin-horiz.xml file with this

<SpecialElement name="Guide" loc="70,90" metadata="false" ......

I also fixed this genre bug and merged the change into sourceforge back in May. I guess jorm didn't update to the latest version before building the .net 2.0 version of XSuite. Someday I'll get a tuner card for my development system and work on maintaining the new XSuite. Using the main TV/PVR as a development system is too costly in WAF points.

You don't need a tuner if you upgrade to the latest gb-pvr version and use the client/server functionality.

If I have to upgrade the HTPC's GBPVR to use client/server then it's a no go. I expect some tweaking (especially with XSuite) after upgrading to .net 2.0 so this needs to happen on my developer system first. Once stabilized, I can upgrade the family HTPC's GBPVR (currently 96.12).

Fair enough. Would you really need a tuner though?

I can skin the xrecord suite with my laptop, without a tuner. I just copy over a few recordings and add them to the database to give me some data to populate the screens. I can get an EPG without a tuner for the guide.

True I can do many things without a tuner (currently doing it with 96.12). I'm planning to get an HDTV OTA tuner and would try that out first with my dev PC with the latest/greatest GBPVR. I know XSuite needs an active maintainer...
