Over the past couple of months my recordings have been prone to more glitches than usual. Mostly the ones from my Nova-t cards although recently I've seen glitches on recordings from my PVR-350 and PVR-500. In the past, I never got glitches from my analogue cards.
Anyway yesterday I decided to sit at my PC with Task Manager open as I'd noticed that periodically the mouse pointer would freeze for a few seconds or scrolling web-pages would stick. After a few minutes the PQ2isvc.exe (Ghost) process suddenly jumped to 60-70 CPU usage and the mouse went jerky.
I've disabled the service now and the few recordings I've made since, have been free of glitches and I'm no longer seeing mouse pointer or scrolling freezing.
What I don't understand is that I've had Ghost installed on this machine for about a year. The only thing I can think of is that Ghost v9 has a problem with .NET 2.0 Framework although there's nothing on the Symantec site about this.
Anybody else got any ideas?
Cheers,
Brian
