Which DVB s Cards do you recommend (anyone) for New Zealand and why?

I have a plain old Twinhan DVB-S card as my secondary tuner at the moment which works fine (TV1, 2 and Maori are unencoded over sky digital, so you could trial the card now rather than waiting for the FTA TVNZ-TV3 conglomerate to start) - sub may weigh in on this as he has trialled a number of dvb cards, but as long as there are BDA drivers available for your chosen card, you should be OK. Admittedly I did have more problems getting it to work than with a standard PVR-150 card, and the chosen mpeg BDA multiplexer definitely makes a big difference as to whether it will consistently record for you or not (I ended up with a Cyberlink one, but search the board to find a recommended version)

i'm not in NZ but i use a skystar 2 satellite card to get FTA satellite off the Astra 2D satellite. I use the SS2recorder plugin that Tim developed and it works real well. I use it with an MVP.

Tim also has just got the Radio to work as well (although not live yet).
