Hi, I am new to gb-pvr and am having trouble getting it working with my above mentioned capture card. I am trying to get the digital signal. After a while messing with the latest version I got it to scan the channels and it recognized everything it should. When watching live tv the video is slow and choppy and for the most part not watchable.

This isn't a signal problem because it works in the crappy Catalyst Media Center. So basically i would just like to know if there are any suggestions on getting this working properly.

My specs are:
Pentium 4 2.4ghz
ATI Radeon 9600
2.2 gb of memory

If its slow and choppy, then its usually either a decoder or video renderer issue. Try using other options for these than you're currently using.

I am not currently at home and can not check specifics. But i have tried messing with the renderers and such and have not gotten it to work any better. I'll make sure to try all different possibilities and post results by Monday.

They're pretty much the only things that have an effect on this. You could also check the version of quartz.dll, and also make sure you've applied the patches from the 'v0.98.13 survival guide' thread.

I have the very same problem after installing ATI TV Wonder 650 card. Interesting fact is that firstly had ATI TV Wonder Elite 550 installed and working fine with GB-PVR. But after I added ATI TV Wonder 650, picture becomes totaly unviewable. Same decoder (NVidia Pure Video), same rendered (VMR9). Pre-recorded videos can be viewed fine. Also I can see picture using ATI catalyst app.

I thrid to feed both cards with cable signal using spliter, also tried single feed to any of the cards separately - same bad result ??? What I am doing wrong. ATI driver is identical for both cards and it is the latest one.
Any advice appreciated thanks in advance!

Has anyone discovered the solution to this yet? I am using the card with an analog signal now, and it works great, but I suspect in the next couple months I will be getting a digtal box from the cable company (Comcast), and I would like to be prepared for any issues.

Could it simply be a graphics sub-system issue? I'm using an AGP Nvidia 7600gs.

One problem is that you cannot get anything other than unencrypted channels from digital cable unless you use the STB and most channels are encrypted except for local channels in some cases. You also need a QAM tuner to get anything digital on cable and the ATI 650 does not have QAM capability as far as I know. It only has OTA HD capability. If you go through the STB, you cannot get digital out. You have to resort to the svideo out from the STB and then you only use the analog part of the tuner card anyway. So you are set if your analog works fine with GBPVR.

I posted this question elsewhere and then found this thread.
I have ben successfull in configuring the analog side of this board, but what ever I try in configuring the HD capture device doesn't work. I assume that the the capture devices listed are all analog and the a HD device is required. Which of the multitude of capture devices listed in the config routine has a chance of working? I can get HD while running catalyst, but don't get anything on HD.

I assume that to go from analog to digiatla you have to start Catalyst and toggle between the two. Is that correct?

Any suggestions for configuring this side of the baord would be appreciated
