Are there any plans to introduce colour-map inversion support (on a per-channel basis) to facilitate tuning Australian cable-TV? This is the one key feature of JovePlayer and BeyondTV that is missing for us Aussies.

I'm thinking of something similar to what DScaler and HNCPlus do (only neither of these products supports my PVR-350).

I'm in New Zealand, and I know what you're trying to achieve. Our local cable company does something similar.

I fairly sure it cant be done at recording time with the PVR250/350. It also cant be done at playback time with the PVR350's hardware decoder. It could possibly be done during software playback using VMR7/VMR9, but would require a custom renderer to be written - not high on my priority list sorry. Also something I'm not very familar with.

This sort of thing was much easier with older technology capture cards like the bt8x8 cards. With these cards it was all done in software, and the software had access to each complete picture/frame of video. With these PVR cards, you dont get direct access to each frame. By the time you get access to it, it has been encoded as part of an MPEG stream and next to impossible to manipulate the picture.

The BT8x8 cards are what most products support, yep.

I'm using an X-Card for output, if that helps, but I can see what you mean about the stream already being encoded by the time you get a chance to play with it. It's a real shame the way they handle cable TV in this part of the world.

Thanks for the prompt response, I'll be keeping tabs on your product once the X-Card is fully supported.
