I have searched the net and this forum and see a lot of others that have or had the same problem: no audio when watching Live TV (or the actual recording). So this is not really GB-PVR related, but I hope to find some people that have experienced this and fixed it as well.

I suspect a driver problem, so I ran HWclear and reinstalled the most current MCE driver (060413 Amity2 2.0.43.24103 (WHQL Signed)).

This does not work. I cannot find any other (older) driver to see if that makes a change. Playing back an existing recording (with sound) plays back the sound ok, so it is not decoder related.

Any suggestions are welcome. I have seen a remark on a website to run wintv 2000k before starting gb-pvr to get sound, but wintv does not work as the pvr500mce does not have a decoder board.

Thanks,

Taco

I'm afraid I have no advice directly concerning lack of audio under Live TV. My guess is that it has something to do with your audio decoder settings. Can you play recorded video OK?

WinTV2K runs just fine with the PVR-500. I run a PVR-500 MCE and use WinTV2K for testing and for simple recording tasks.

The PVR-500 MCE bundle does NOT come with the middleware nor WinTV2K application on CD, but you can download all that stuff from hauppauge.com .

It might be a good idea for you to install WinTV2K just to verify that your hardware is OK.
