Howdy all from Calgary, Alberta.! ya just gotta love forums. the last time on a similar subject, it was AL7Bar...still got the sats lined up but always trying to beat Dish on this thing and that thing & reconfiguring Myth was getting tiring and took up way too much time.
anyway...Finally got a new system and am set up with terrestial Cable.
Dell E521: Athalon 64x2 1GB Dram, 250 GB HD
SB Platinum X-Fi running a set of Logitech Z-5450 5.1 speakers (SPDIF), Hauppage 150MCE wintv-PVR crd, GeForce 7300LE using DVI-D out to (very soon) to be acquired Sony 40" LCD. Not sure if the Sony will have a DVI input so may have to adapt my DVID to HDMI.
Have CATV run to Tuner crd and have gbpvr working ...very Kewl btw.!
So far so good...
in the AM, shall sneak off to Shaw Cable to;
......acquire HD STB and set up HD Programming
I know that the Hauppage crd does not support HD and that I cannot record HD offerings.
..any thoughts on connection of the HD STB so that I can watch Live HD and still record standard programming (Non HD),..just not sure how that works as far as cables and connections.
Is there also a requirement to run separate video/audio to/from the the STB as well for the above set-up.? not sure on that front either.
And what would be really cool is if someone has a "how to" on setting up an MCE remote Ver 2 for use with gbPVR. I have been to the HIP site and DL'd / installed / run all that was required. Unfortunately to say but it may as well be written in Swahili for all the understanding that I can get from this program...pretty confusing.! (-%
any enlightenment that could be shed upon this would and will be greatly appreciated.
