Widescreen & AC3

Helo, I just discovered this piece of software while searching for a .net pvr program, as I'm a .net developer. I've been running JovePlayer on my X-Card for the last year and I was searching for something new last week, since then I've been trying to get MythTv to work as I want to.

Anyway, this program looks nice, BUT...

I can't find a setting to make it widescreen....

I use my pvr computer connected to a widescreen projector trough vga, and most of the DVD's an movies I have are widescreen. In all other programs there is a widescreen option, but I can't seem to find one here...

Also, JovePlayer is able to output all sound trough the SPDIF of the XCard, I can't seem to find any passtrough option for AC3. I guess this could be done with a DShow filter, but I´m not sure....

Anyway, great program, I'd love to do some plugins and stuff if I can get the basic functionality working...

If there is a way to pass trough the ac3 audio to a Live card, that would do

I just saw that u can resize the window and make it wider, if I'd be able to put the screen resolution.... I have to test this, anyway , great program!

Yes, both configurable aspect ratios and SPDIF audio are on my todo list. I only added support for the XCard a few weeks ago, and just havn't got to these things yet. I'm also not sure what exactly needs to be done, because I'm learning as I go.

Hi sub,

From what I can see, the XCard only has two resolutions:
720x480 and
720x720

So the only thing u have to do is unstretch the whole window... display it as 9:16 on a 1:1 in 720x720 and it should do the trick Or something like that.... To late for math..

As for the sound, I was able to get a SPDIF passthrough trough AC3Filter to my SB Live digital out.

If anyone is intrested, all u have to do is install AC3Filter and in the configuration program, available trough the start menu or in the control panel, select SPDIF as speaker type.

As for my using the X-card, it just doesn't wanna work.
I have exactley the same problem as nox71 reported, I can get the OSD to work after presing enter on a radio station. But that's not all...

In software mode I can play divx but not MPG and in X-Card mode I can't play a thing.

In Software mode after playing DivX I get a error dialog and for mpg I get a "ActiveMovie Window" window.

In X-Card mode the player stops responding but seems to close down allright with Alt+F4.

No, not yet. I've spent the last couple of days constructing my new development computer and installing XP,development tools, etc. The XCard hasn't gone in yet.

You could email your GBPVR.exe-native01.log. It may contain some clues.
