My GB-PVR PC is used as a general use pc as well as for recording. We always put the PC into standby when not in use. If we do this while a recording is in progress, it causes the recording to fail. It's easy to forget to check if the tray icon is green or not, as I have found out to my cost!

Would it be possible to warn the user if they try to shutdown or go to standby while a recording is in progress?

It could then give you the option to:
  • proceed and shutdown/standby
  • cancel
  • shutdown/standby when finished

It could also do the same thing if someone is watching via an MVP or network client.

You say you always put into standby? Why not set the PC to go into standby after 20 minutes of inactivity, and just instruct family not to do manually. Then is something is recording it will stay on.

the shutdown plugin offers this. It's suposed to tell you if something is about to record in x minutes too - but this feature is broken on mine (I have to set it to x=0 minutes to get it to work) - but otherwise this may be of help...

hello again to all.

i had quite a busy time last year and very few (read: none) time for gbpvr (i guess the fact that i am still using version 0.98.6 says enough).

as it looks i will be able to spend more time for my favourite pvr app again and i hope the shutdown plugin will offer again all its functionality (if still needed Smile )

greets

welcome back! - and as a returning gift I got you a bug report for the shutdown plugin Big Grin
as I said below, entering any value except "0" for the 'warn if a progrom is recording in 'x' minutes' page gives an invalid date or time error (or something like that...)
