It's official. I need an HTPC.

All 3 of my PCs have quiet PSUs. Two have 120mm fans and one is an Enermax dual fan speed-adjustable setup. I can't remember the model offhand. They all make about the same amount of noise, but the 120mm models cool better at the same noise level. Basic physics.

The problem I've found with the 120mm fans is even though they can push more air at the same (or less) advertised noise level as a smaller fan, finding perfectly balanced 120s is pretty hard. They can give off a vibration to make the chassis resonate or other components vibrate which creates additional noise.

It makes sense tho to use the 120s to cool the more powerful PSUs, but we don't need much power to run the HTPCs and I was really impressed at how quiet this Antec was.

When the 3x PVR-150s (4th is in another PC for dubbing media not on GBPVR server box) start recording you know something is recording.

Yeah, that's the thing... I don't want to know when somethings recording by the sound of the fans
