hi sub,
didn't know where to put it, so it ended up on the wishlist, ain't exactly a issue ;-)

1. the different native logs don't have the same format, would be easier to read them if they had the timestamps as the other logs (i.e. "26.01.2007 21:33:56.703 VERBOSE" instead of just "21:58:39.031 VERBOSE")

2. allmost all the timestamps of the logfiles (file changed date) are not up to date, kind of funny, logs made through plugins using GBPVR.Public.Logger have a correct timestamp. then again: the timestamp of %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log ain't up to date either ;-)

happy coding,
K.S.

Ok, I've added the date to native logs.

I dont care about this one. I just write to the logs files, and as long as they end up with the correct messages, then I'm happy.

While on the subject of logging, I think I asked this before, do you think sub, that you might be interested in differentiating between pc, pc client and MVP logs??

In my music plugin, I've implemented my own logging as well, and to create the file name, I used the GetClientIdentifier and append that to the start of the file name. Means I get a log for the gbpvr (server) and for my mvp.

Just wondering if you could look at the same type of idea....

I have done a small change along those lines in the next release. The (first) MVP process will log to MVP-GBPVR.exe.log instead of GBPVR.exe.log. This will at least give you separate PC and MVP logs.

In case you're wondering why I didnt create a log for each MVP MAC address, this is not known initially, and I didnt want to restart a new log file when the process eventually receives a connection from an MVP.

No not worried about 1 per mvp, it's just for diagnosing problems like at the moment every so often gbpvr.exe dies, and i have not logs cos i run an mvp as well and it would mean having the mvp off for a couple of days (not allowed wife would kill me)...this should help in diagnosing that.

you're right, it's nothing to care about as long the messages are written. just thought somebody else with coding skills has allready stumbled across that behaviour. if so i would just be interested to know why (that signature of mine ain't there for nothin' Wink)
