I have noticed since upgrading to 99.05, whenever I record a show, the tuning assistant launchs on its own on my server. Any idea why?

I'm sorry, but I have to call bollocks on that one. There is no way the recording service is starting the tuning assistant.

Any idea what would cause it to launch at the same time a recording starts then?

I honestly dont believe a recorder is starting the tuning assistant. I think you are confused and seeing something else.
There is no relationship between GB-PVR and the Tuning Assistant, which is an entirely stand alone program which is distributed in the same install.

If you search for tuningasisstant using the "containing text" option it may be able to find a batch file which is calling the tuning app to open, which you may have forgotten about - something like the RecordingStatus.bat
Thanks

Sub,
I was experimenting again trying to figure out whats causing this. And by the way, I dont think I am confusing what the tuning assistant is with something else. Whenever the recording service starts, or whenever I watch live TV, this pops up on my server screen. http://bp3.blogger.com/_g8MOe0l_fLk/Rb1y...ub-Pic.jpg A new instance occurs with every channel change. This is not a big deal becuase as a whole your software is very very good, but I thought you might have an idea if I showed you a screen shot.

Sorry, I dont know. I believe it must be something you've done, or some plugin you've installed - probably in batch file like PostProcessing.bat or ParallelProcessing.bat.

Sub,
I figured it out. I changed the channel changer setting in my capture source setup to "no changer required". I can still change chanels and the tuning assistant is no longer poping up. Thanks

You must have set to the '.exe channel changer' and selected the TuningAssistant.exe as the executable.
