Just a convenience for myself really. I have lot of different software I've written on my machines, and its easy to find it all under the 'c:\program files\devnz\' directory.

What is the background of these 5 letters....

Its was just a nice short '.com' domain that was available when I wanted a new email address many years ago, and was sort of descriptive of what I was doing (see K.S. comment above). Believe me - its not easy to find decent available 5 letter .com domain names...
