I have searched the forum and other websites and I could not get windows to recognize my MCE remote.

I obtained the irbus.sys, irbus.inf and irbus.pnf files.
I copied them where I was directed to copy them.
I rebooted
I pluged my ir receiver into my usb port.
The device is detected but not installed properly.

Now my device manager show and error 10 for the device and I can not get it to go away.

I later installed HIP and the remote works wonderfully but I still have this error. I know it is a little silly to worry about this when the device works but it really bothers me.

Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

HELP!

if you're already using hip, you can also use the alternate driver and then use any remote you wish also! Big Grin

the driver is out there but i can't seem to find my link...just search for mceir alternate driver..

it comes with a couple of utilities for recording and playback of blaster codes, but you just need driver looks like...[direct replacement for winxp one]

you'll want to 'remove' the existing ! hardware devices so they will get detected with new driver once installed...[and reboot]

works great and you won't get double hit keys tho your HIP may need a bit of tweaking...

i worked mine so gbpvr doesn't even need to have focus to use it...Smile

Quote from HIP's docs:

Quote:New MCE Remote drivers and software available from http://burningzeroad.free.fr/MceIrApi.rar (if you are using Hip, these drivers are included in the Full Installation and HIP MCE Send and Receive Interface and do not need to be downloaded separately).

I have installed HIP the full version (which should include the drivers) and the remote works great but windows still show that if is not installed properly in the device manager.

I don't know how to resolve this.
