This has nothing to do with GB-PVR but I know there are a lot of people here who are into their AV gadgets etc.

I'm looking for a USB device which has a 1/4 inch 'line' input jack (mono is OK but possibly stereo) with USB connector to allow recording audio to computer.

I've done some Googling and found a few things but they're either only available in the US (expensive to import to the UK) or they're pro-quality (such as Edirol - a Roland brand name) and just plain expensive. This is for a charity so price is an issue.

If anybody has any recommendations I'd be grateful.

Cheers,
Brian

Can't you get a cheap usb soundcard with normal (3.5mm) input jacks, and a 6.35->3.5mm converter? That seems like the simplest solution to me, unless you have some special requirements? Big Grin I'd say you'd get away with something lik £10 or so if you look for the cheapest possible solution Wink

Thanks guys,

I'm trying to avoid 3.5mm connectors as they can devolop dodgy connections if they're regularly plugged/unplugged - 1/4inch jacks tend to be more reliable.

The problem we have is that we do recording sessions once a week in a community hall. The equipment all has to be taken apart and stored in some lockable cupboards we've been allocated.

A 3.5mm -> 1/4 inch adapter would obviously work but I'd need to find a way of securing it into the USB box so nobody could ever unplug it. A USB device with 1/4 inch jacks would be nicer though.

Cheers,
