Had a quick search and couldn't see anything definite, but I'm setting up my PVR-150 to record from Sky and I was wondering about cables. Sky doesn't seem to output S-video over scart, so is it worth going for something like this:

Linky which doesn't seem to exist anymore

or just go for a scart->svideo cable that will output a composite svideo signal.

I'm trying to keep the quality as high as possible as the TV is bad enough for artifacts as it is!

Thanks!

Its worth converting RGB - S-Video, Composite looks pretty poor

I use one of these for my PVR-150

I almost gave up when using Composite, but using one of these the picture is pretty good, on VirginMedia I can only just tell the difference in picture quality between the STB and GBPVR

thanks for the reply, was trying to avoid spending too much money though! Smile

I can get a sky box with S-video on ebay out for £25, so I'd just swap out my current one for the Grundig.

Which I may yet still do...

There's a noticable diference between composite out of the PVR and scart RGB straight from the sky box, but composite isn't terrible by any means.

I think the mvp might work with RGB. Sorry can't test at the moment.

So are the Svideo out pins just not connected on the scart output of your sky box?

Could be the scart-cable aswell then, often they are not full wired.

Obviously the sky boxes in NZ are not the same as UK's - but if you get yourself a cable, scart - svideo does it display anything?
