I have just started using comskip on atsc tv recorded as dvr-ms files.
When looking at the timeline when playing a file, it appears that comskip thinks the recording is half the length that it really is. I.e. all the skipping is shown only during the first half of the show, no matter how long the show is and the length of the commercial segments shown by comskip are half the length they should be. Any ideas?

Do you have <PreferComskipEDL>true</PreferComskipEDL> in config.xml. You should do. You'll also need to make sure you're using a recent comskip, and have the comskip.ini file setting to enable the production of .edl files.

This happens because the framerate of the ATSC video is dynamically changing during ads and the actual show. This breaks the comskip .txt files, which a frame number based. The .edl files are based on time instead.

My config.xml is already set to true. In the comskp.ini file do i just change "output_edl=0" to "output_edl=1" ? I think i have version 79.89.

output_edl=1 sounds right to me.

I'm not that familiar with comskip. I dont even know what the current version is, so I couldnt tell you if that one is adequate or not.

Okay, i made the change. I am rerunning a file. Should I be seeing a .edl file? I am only seeing .log and .txt files.

Yes, but I dont know at what stage its created. I'm by no means a comskip expert. Basically you want to get it creating a .edl file, and GB-PVR can use this instead of the .txt file.
