After using ComproDVD2 to watch a burnt DVD, I went to watch GBPVR live TV and then SLAP! Sound and NO picture.

I checked the GB config only to discover that it had reverted to system default for video and audio. I then tried to select the Nvidia decoder that I'd been using before but it was GONE. It was either system or Nero and I know Nero dosen't work.

I ran graphedt and discovered that I was now using Ulead mpeg decoder which works with ComproDVD. It overode my AC3 filter as well.

I uninstalled ComproDVD(now I can't watch burnt DVD's, didn't know GBPVR won't play them) but it's made no difference. It's still using the Ulead decoder.

How can I tell Ulead to shoo and bring Nvidia back? This coming after I spent SEVERAL DAYS ALREADY getting the sound to play niceRolleyes

Any ideas?

If you run any development or debugger tools on your machine, the nvidia decoder is reknowned for deregistering itself to stop you from finding out its secrets... Rolleyes

My nvidea video decoder is called nvviddec.ax
the audio decoder is called nvauddec.ax
I think sub is saying if you find where these files are on your PC, you can re-register them and they will get picked up.
There were a bunch of other Nvidea filters but I don't think any of them are used.

I think you need to do the following: (you need to fill in the correct paths)
regsvr32 (path_to_nvidea_video)\nvviddec.ax
regsvr32 (path_to_nvidea_audio)\nvauddec.ax

Is that right, sub?

The only recent addition software wise has been some DVD burning programs. I wonder if they were the culprits?

Any way, I found the Nvidia codecs and re-registered them. All is good. Thanks for your help guys.
