Just few suggestions for an otherwise nice product:

1) In the user interface, have a common way of handling files that have been recorded and those that are in the video library. For example, to delete a recorded file, you need to select the file (as if playing it), and choose delete, whereas in the video library, you go to an entirely different left-hand pane submenu. Also, a recorded file has a resume option before playing, whereas the video library starts to play the file before asking if you want to resume. Just to state my preferences, I wish everything worked like the recorded files. I know this isn't a big deal since everything works, but it's a usability suggestion.

2) Push the main menu and OSD inwards a bit, to accomodate overscan displays. On my tv, I can't read the left few letters of the program description or the right digits of the clock on the OSD, and the leftmost characters in the main menu choices are cut off. I know it's possible to resize the gbpvr output, but I prefer 1:1 picture clarity. It would be nice if the display lettering was repositioned to accomodate CRTs.

3) When changing channels, have the screen go blank instead of flickering as the channels are changing. My tv's tuner does this by default, and the time to change channels actually feels shorter when the screen is blank than when you "almost" see the next channel flicker through for a second before being able to watch.

Just a few ideas on what I'd love to see incorporated. Even if no suggestions are taken, I'd still love this program.

My resume always seems to occur after the video file has loaded.

So does mine when playing a file from the video library, but not a recorded tv show.

If you have <UseMenuResumeButton>false</UseMenuResumeButton> in config.xml, then it should always do it after video has loaded.

#2 is already supported (but needs some manual fiddling in the config.xml).

But I do concur with #1 - interesting, I just came back from watching TV (or should I say watching GB-PVR), and it was the last thing I thought about before switching the TV off. Although it was mentioned in the past, I do find it, well not annoying, but a bit less "round" or consistent. I also rather every file is treated with like the recordings, with this sort of pop-up with the options.

Some other PVR software the OSD on MediaMVP is so sharp for text I wonder how they do it? Can this be migrated into GBPVR. Tahoma is the default font used by most PVR software and GBPVR. There has to be more going on in the OSD department. Adding fancy background behind the text or using black shadow with high contrast white seems to bring it close to the others.
