Aspect ratio in full screen mode?

How can I set the aspect ratio in full screen mode? I have a wide-screen lcd, but most cable tv is still 4:3. By default, GB-PVR just stretches the picture across the whole screen, which is ugly. I'm using a PVR-150 under Vista.

Any suggestions welcome - thanks!

F7 toggles aspect ratio. You should also make sure to set tv type to 16:9 in the config app.
I'm not always right

As stefan said, have you set your tv type to 16:9? If so, and you've got it set to the 'auto' aspect ratio, then it should show with the correct aspect ratio.

Yes - on the Playback tab I have Aspect Ration Control set to 16:9.

On the MVP tab, TV Standard is set to AUTO and is greyed out, as is Aspect Ratio which is set to Standard and Video Output which is set to Composite.

I didn't see any other place to set it. Which of these two did you mean?

Thanks!

Ah... on an MVP. Sorry, GB-PVR has no control over the aspect ratio when you're viewing video via an MVP.

If you boot the original Hauppauge MVP software and set the setting to a 16:9 monitor, then it'll also behave a little better in GB-PVR.

I think the MVP should always be in 16:9 modem regardless on the TV. But that's just me...

@rrbaer take a look at ZProcess. It should work well for you, to create Pillar Box of your 4x3 video on a 16:9 TV
