I like your idea of building a browser plugin. It would be very useful, if implemented in a way that allows web surfing with the remote control. I have a fairly basic browser built into UbuStream so you can bring up a web page containing a streaming station's program schedule (or other useful info about the stream). You can scroll up and down the page (and sideways) but I could never decide how to implement "clicking" on a link using the remote buttons.

Regarding your desire to come up with a way to watch Netflix Watch Now movies on the MVP, I suspect that you may be out of luck. I've now determined without doubt that you can't use UbuStream's Timeshift Play with these streams. Since Timeshift Play is attempting to do "on the fly" transcoding of the stream to MPEG2 (a requirement for watching it on an MVP), this could be seen as "recording" it, which is exactly what Netflix doesn't want you to do (and is probably in breach of their terms and conditions). So I think the digital rights management stuff is stopping the transcoding from working (it appears to work, but the MPEG2 video is distorted and appears compressed into a thin bar at the top).

However, for non-MVP use, the Netflix movies work quite nicely with UbuStream's internal WMP player. Realizing that my wife wasn't using all this "free" streaming time has got me hooked on the idea. So I'm planning to a) write a Dynamic Source app that will make it easy to capture a Netflix movie into the UbuStream database (and perhaps give the option of selecting movies from their "Top 50" list) and b) add a Resume/Restart capability to the internal player (I already know these streams are "seekable" because FastFwd and Rewind work with them, but it's a bit of a pain to have to use FastFwd to get to the point you left off when you last played it).

Let me know if you've got a workaround for the MVP problem. Maybe there's something I'm missing here

I would love to see a plug in for gb-pvr that would let me use my netflix watch now time on gbpvr, if nothing else just so that my remote would work
