hello,

noticed a problem with the jukebox plugin last night whilst re-arranging some of my folders.

the jukebox was playing away fine until it attempted to randomly play a track which since its database had been built I had deleted from my disc.

the player just seemed to pause without any error message.

I manually added a track to the playlist skipped it forward using ctrl+right and it continued as though nothing had happened.

presumably it isnt checking a track which it has previously indexed actually exists before attempting to play it

not a big problem but annoying all the same

whoops

I forgot to add to the last post a few items for the wishlist for the jukebox

1. the ability to be able to add an entire folder to the playlist
to play a whole album for instance

2.  the ability to prevent a folder from being indexed and   hence it from being played randomly perhaps by the presence of a file called noindex.txt or similar. (I have fairly avant garde taste in music and wouldn't want some folders to be picked randomly during say a dinner party !! most folk don't like Henry Cow and their ilk)

3. the ability to remove an item from a playlist as I often select an item by mistake

other than that I love the jukebox plugin its what I have been looking for for years

thanks

Hi Bryan,

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]gplasky/jeffcora; How do I access the database that GB-PVR is using in C#?  Sub?
Sorry, not a clue  [Image: biggrin.gif]

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]- Database Build Progress; No, this isn't entirely necessary, I added it since I hate it when programs 'hang' while they do stuff in the background and give no user feedback.  I can certainly bump it up to 100+ folders per second though (or add another config value).
Yer, either/both would be great. Know what you mean about the update, adding it as a config value defaulted to 100 would be ideal. Having it updating the screen without slowing down the actual build process would be best and negate the need for the above, but I get the feeling this isn't easy to achieve?

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]- Selecting playlists; Yes, this is on my to-do list.  What playlist format do you suggest?  .m3u?
Definately .m3u, but any other playlist that GBPVR supports to keep it consistant.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]- "Selection of genre for the random play tracks" - Could you give me more detail on this?  I'm not sure what behavior you're suggesting.
Currently random play mode will select any song. Instead it would be good to have the option to play any random song within a selected genre (based on the info in the ID3 tag). e.g. only play random "dance" tracks or play random "classical" tracks etc. The genre could be selected within the jukebox frontend from a button on the left, and the available genre's in the list would come from any unique genre found within the music collection (probably collected during the DB Build process), including an "any genre" option i.e. play any random track.

Idea is that at any time you could can go into the options and select a different genre for the random played tracks in order to change the mood.

Make sense?

Getting it working 'as is' on the MVP is highest on my wishlist for this plugin. Doesn't work at all for me, MVP times out during the db build process.

Cheers, Rob

Stupid question, but other than adding the jukeboxplugin.dll to the plugins folder and ticking the box in the gb-pvr configuration program what else do I need to do to set up the plugin? When I go to the main menu there doesn't seem to be an option for the jukebox. I've tried the pictures plugin and I seemed to get that to work.

There is also a skin file (background.jpg?) that needs to placed in a specific directory. This is contained in the zip file, along with the folder name it should be stored in.

Thanks. Sorry, I wasn't detailed enough in my original post. I've unzipped the skin file and placed it in C:\Program Files\Denvz\GBPVR\skin\blue\jukebox I've also tried C:\GBPVR\skin\blue\jukebox. Neither adds an option on the main menu. I love the look of the rest of the program and the way it seems to be developing.

Hi thanks for spending the time to develop the Jukebox Plugin. I have added it to my list on the MVP. The only thing is , when I start the Jukebox it starts to play a random song, but then I can't seem to go to my music directory to list the Albums using the filters. It just list all dir in the C:\ .
My music files are stored in a D:\My Music, but the Jukebox filters don't seem to see it.Am I doing something wrong? Can you not just go into the Jukebox and load into the My Music Directory. The Jukebox plugin also searches all directories on the C:\ drive. Can you configure it to just search D:\My Music?

Best Regards
Joe keep up the execellent work.Smile
