davisj36, I'm not trying to dodge anything (though I dont know if this is true for BTV).

The core of GB-PVR doesn't use any GPL code because I was we'll aware of this issue, but I am curious of the implication of external developers that are writing external plugins that use GPL code.

I find it absolutely increadible that you can do all theses great things with the 350 but you can't play a stinking DVD. Someone didn't think this through when they designed this board. Would have been so difficult to be able to instruct the hardware to do an mpeg decode or just pass the the stream on through unchanged?

Appearantly it's able to pass video from the S Video in to the TV out. Is ther a way to send video via software to the SVideo in internally? I guess it could be done external if you have an extra svideo out.

If the 350 will only decode mpeg to th tv out, how do get all the screens for GBPVR to display?

It would be possible, but would consume a huge amount of effort and time so wont be doing it myself.

DVD playback on the PVR350 just isn't important enough to to justify focusing all the required effort, and ignoring the other changes and new features that need to be added - sorry.

Actually I wasn't trying to suggest that you do it yourself. I dont know you get to the things you do now. I've read that someone is working on it. I just thought it wasn't such a great idea for them to release this card without being able to play DVDs. If I were more proficient at programming I'd give it shot mysefl.
