Since GBPVR is absolutely the best free pvr software available, I use it.

My PC is sequestered in the back room, away from the TV & DirecTV DVR that is commandeered on a regular basis by my son and fiancee. My financial situation is such that I dont have the mullah to pony up for a new LCD monitor, and I'm stuck with SXGA for the forseeable future.

The programmers at Codemasters have added an option for 5:4 display to titles like ToCA Race Driver 3, even though most of them are ports from Xbox and Playstation games that are aimed at people with HDTV or regular old TV. Have a heart, let us watch our TV shows correctly on our space saving yet out dated PC's, and add a third toggle for the SXGA LCD aspect ratio. It's a very common piece of hardware, and will make your software that much better.

It won't hurt, much. I promise.

You can tweak the default aspect ratios in config.xml to suit whatever shape TV you have.

Changing 4x3 to 5x4 made my installation crash, so I added this line to the aspect ratio change options:

<AspectRatioMode name="NTSC on SXGA" ratio="0,0.03,1,0.97" />

It seems to work in VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive

Yeah, "4x3" or "16x9" are the only options that would be acceptable there.

Thats what I'd meant you to do. Glad you got it sorted.

I checked my work, and I think this is the correct answer:

<AspectRatioMode name="NTSC on SXGA" ratio="0,0.0325,1,0.97" />

1280 x 3/4 = 960

(1024-960) / 2 = 32

32/1024 = 0.03125
1 - 0.03125 = 0.96875

If I add 0.00125 to both to move the viewing area up a bit and fewer decimal placess, the values are 0.97 and 0.0325 for Ystart and Yend.
