I was wondering what the status is of your plugin. I ask because I was wondering if you would possibly release the source code. I have a few ideas that I wouldn't want to reinvent the wheel so to speak.

For instance I want to put some raid drives in and because I want raid I would want to keep track of their status. Loss of data would be a big problem.

Another thought is to monitor the output of MBM (MotherBoard Monitor).

MBM support is there already (kind of), but using the XML file.

I'll have to have a look as to what condition it is in for release. Although you could ask me for the features if you wish as well??

Since a pvr ideally does not usually have interraction I would be worried about my raid loosing it's "healthy" status. I am not exactly sure how to implement this but I would even like a popup or something in the status window saying "YOUR RAID IS FAILING!!!" or something along those lines

if the RAID device uses the S.M.A.R.T. protocol, then perhaps this can be pciked up via MBM

The only problem with this is getting the message onto the front screen. Jeff provided a panel with his Video archive that other plugins could write messages to so I could use that, or run a stand alone panel...or send an email.... email is probably the easiest to implement and wouldn't "clutter" your display with panels.

I would think an email is better also in that it would go to where I look everyday. However there is a short comming to this... I have NO email ability turned on in my rig. It was intended for that and didn't want it used by someone else.

as in, have you blocked the out going ports?? (25 for smtp)

If not, then you "have" email. Muuwwwhhhhaaa.

As part of the .Net framework there are mail classes for sending emails via smtp.

It could also be done via a RSS type feed (not as fancy as the EWA ones), or i could attach it to my musicPanel (ml2panel) but I'm not sure I want to do that as it couples my plugins together...

is this plugin still worked on ?

i wonder if it would be possible to see cpu-tempeatures / fan-speed (using speedfan ?), running tasks, etc. from within this plugin ? also some kind of way to kill/restart tasks would be really helpfull...

Not really.

I'm going to clear some stuff off my plate, then I'll convert it to pvrx2 and release the source code for it.

But not sure when I'll get around to that.
