I use GB PVR with a computer connected to HDHomeRun. I do not have a remote control. I try to use my mouse or trackball to control functions, but the response is spotty, at best. Often, I have to use a mix of keyboard inputs and mouse to select, change channels, etc.,etc.

It would be great if the various functions like play, fast forward, rewind, and the slider bar would respond to a mouse or trackball, especially one without a scroll wheel.

About your examples - play, fast forward and rewind should work with a mouse. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "the slider bar", though?

I find that moving my mouse brings up some buttons for play/pause/forward rewind. Is that not your experience? Just thinking aloud here, but are those buttons available in overlay mode? If you're not in VMR mode that could be the problem.

I guess by the slider bar you mean the "time elapsed" bar at the top of the screen. As far as I know this does not respond to mouse input.

You might find it easier to use keyboard functions to control GBPVR than a mouse, I find that it's a lot easier that way. A list of keyboard functions is available on the wiki.

I would have thought it would work with overlay... Could it also be dependent on the skin used?

It might be worth looking at the recent touchscreen plugin - seems to work well for a wheel-less mouse situation.

the OSD play controls work with overlay, and yes they are part of the skin, so if the developer messed up the skin then they may not be there, or may not work.

I also suggest looking at the touchscreen plugin, it is currently being developed, so if you have some special considerations that you might want in it, you could ask for them to be included Smile
