Hi to all,

I have a Sapphire Theatrix 550 PRO card.

The included remote never really functioned properly even with the Cyberlink software except for a few functions.

Since I uninstalled the Cyberlink after installing GB-PVR I was hoping to improve the remote's functionality and get most of the buttons working.

Basically, all that is working right now are the keypad buttons for changing channels (but the channel up and down buttons have no effect).

The volume up and down don't work, but the DVD buttons work with Cyberlink's PowerDVD software.

The program launch button did work with the Cyberlink software but not with GB-PVR. That is about the only functionality I lost by switching to GB-PVR.

Since the PC is responding to the remote through the USB receiver I assume with a little knowledge about how to set it up it can be done.

Anybody out there know how to do this?

Thanks in advance.

If you set the remote type to 'MCE remote' in the config app, then most buttons should work, with the exception of those in the white square.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I had already anticipated that MCE was the right remote choice and it has always been set that way.

Actually, the "Live TV" button within the white area does work, but only if the GB-PVR is open and "Live TV" is highlighted.

Funny thing, the volume up and down buttons work within PowerDVD but not within GB-PVR.

I thought there might be some back end programing that might be done within the application files. But mind you, given how bad the included Cyberlink software was I wrote the remote's lack of performance off to simply Cyberlink's not caring what they produce.

I downloaded and installed the new version today. Very nice improvement in looks and navigation. One thing that I would love to see in it is the "Toggle Foreground" option. I really love that when working and being able to keep the window foreward. I hope that will be added in a future release.

I have been going back and forth trying to determine if the picture has improved. Sometimes I think it has and other times I'm not so sure. I have noticed the cpu usage hopped up about 15 to 20%

In any case, thanks very much for the courtesy of this response. If you have any other ideas for the remote, that would be appreciated.

I have been able to get mine working, but spent a couple bucks to do it. Before HIP became the norm you had to run Girder to personalize all the buttons on your remote. I purchased a license for version 3.3 which has a HID plugin that works for any general HID device (including the Cyberlink Remote) and allowed me to map commands to all of the buttons on the remote. the license cost me 20.00US at the time but i dont regret it. I think they are on Version 4 or even 5 now but im not sure if there are HID plugins for them. You may want to check. I dont know if there is an equivelant plugin in HIP though....so the free options are going to be tough if not impossible.
