I've been using my MVP and GBPVR for a while now, but am looking to replace my 2nd TV (the one the MVP connects to). With the prices of LCD monitors being lots less than LCD TV's, I was wondering if there's an equivalent (or way of modifying) the MVP so it outputs VGA? I never use the tuner on the TV, so I feel hard of paying extra for it (yes, I am a skinflint Big Grin ).

Thanks all

Over here we have one of these: http://www.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?...BCATID=294

Depending on where you are you might be able to find similar...

I've been kicking around idea as you, but I've also been looking into the cost of a cheap (ish) laptop to run gbpvr from.

I want to try to avoid some kind of converter box ideally, the cost defeats the saving of buying a monitor vs a tv.

Doing a bit more reading, it looks like RGB scart and VGA signals are mostly the same, just the scart misses the discrete horizontal and vertical sync signals. So no hope of a simple cable re-wire Sad

Might just have to stop being a pikey and cough up the money Smile

The other thing you could of course look for is an LCD screen with a Svideo port - I know some of the bigger dells have this (around the 22" marck).

I have not ever found a 17" or 19" with svideo..

Oh and the converter box is $100 nzd and a 2" lcd screen around $500.

I 20" LCD "TV" over here is up around to $1200 to $1500 mark, so well cheaper even with the converter.
