Hello -

Posting a feature request to have ML2 read flac tags. Some info about the tags: http://flac.sourceforge.net/faq.html#general__tagging.

The format for tagging flac is similar to the Vorbis Tag; the "References" section has a link to the specifications.

I can send a sample flac file if its useful for building support.

Thanks!

I can investigate. Not sure how long it will take me though.

A sample flac would be useful. My email address is posted as part of my profile.

if you've got the taglib-sharp reader - you should be able to go to the config.xml and under the pluginSettings\MusicLibrary I have a list of accepted extentions, put your flac in there, and see if it gets loaded.

I just did a quick search on taglib-sharp and flac and it did seem to imply that they should work.

I've just confirmed with a .flac file I was given to test this that it does work. Add "~.FLAC" to the
Code:
<EXT>.MP3~.WMA~.OGG~.M4A~.FLAC</EXT>
section of the MusicLibrary settings.

It does require the taglib-sharp reader.

FLAC files already work with ML2 and the MVP but it currently has the same limitations as the built in player that I have mentioned before

1. GBPVR does not send .flac files to the MVP it will generates a .flacforcefailure and crashes. Sub has said he has fixed this for the next release.

2. The distributed version of the ffmpeg doesn't recognized .fla as being FLAC files, so you need to install an updated version. I get mine for http://ffdshow.faireal.net/

If you play random file list in ML2 I would not add .flac files into the database until sub has an update.
