Hi,

I have noticed a strange issue. I have most of my content actually located on my PVR PC except one folder which is on a PC that shares the folder across the network, this works great from the TV UI but the folder appears empty through the WEB UI.
FYI I am using 1.0.8

I have tried using a UNC i.e. //PCNAME/FOLDERNAME/ and also mapped the Z:\ drive neither works through the Web UI. I am sure it would work if I used magic juntions but havent tried yet. Is this a known limitation or is there a solution I havent tried yet?

Thanks

To get to a share the UNC should be formatted \\PCNAME\FOLDERNAME\ - above you have the slashes backwards. I have my recordings on a share and can access them through ewa.....the share goes to a drive on a buaffalotech nas server with no security.

Sometimes there are issues if where the share is is on another windoes machine that has security.

You can try running the service account (gbvprrecordingservice) under a local user account that exists on the PC that is hosting the files as well.

Let me know what happens.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I made a mistake with the direction of the slashes needless to say as they were working from the TV they were actually the correct way just a mistake in the email.

I tried changing the user to my own account and password for the recording service as a test as I have admin rights on both PC's that didnt help still blank in the web UI and ok in the TV UI

Any other ideas?

Cheers

both avi and mpeg, dont see why that would make a difference though.

btw I tried using a junction link (magic junction) and the TV UI didnt even see it working very strange as its done at a filesystem level.

Cheers

I have exactly the same problem.
I have a computer on which I keep all my home video and photos in various folders that are shared out to the network and nothing shows up in the GBPVR web interface.

This seems to be the solution to the file sharing problem.
But dont forget to change it back when you upgrade.

also in the gbpvr config file you can change where it says "localhost" to the actual name of your server seems to help
