It's looking like Zap2it is still keeping scheduling for upto the end of the month at least. (as of this post.. 15 days)

so how far do you guys and gals tell GBPVR to get data for? a few days - a few weeks.
is there a disadvantage for getting two 1/2 weeks ahead?

I'm doing 10, but I think there is a limit lower than 2.5 weeks or 17.5 days. Just from looking at Zap2it's tvlistings page they will only let me choose 14 days ahead so I'd assume the scraper would be the same.

Cheers

I don't use zapit or SD as I'm in the UK.
Our common listing source goes two weeks into the future, but I decided to only grab 7 days because there was a spell of them shifting the start/end times by a couple of minutes a week in advance and this left the EPG and scheduled recordings with a couple of entries for the same programme. Since going to 7 days I've not come across one of these.

Personally I like getting as many as possible so I can sit down and schedule two weeks at a time and not think about it again for that time period.

But I read someone recommending people keep it something short, 3 or 4 days. I don't quite recall their rationale, so hopefully someone with that point of view will come along and mention any possible disadvantage.

Out of curiosity do those of you that grab for more than one week also do daily updates?

Is there a way not to? I only see a time of day choice in config. I would do every other or every third day if there were options.

Sorry I forgot. I've been in the habit of doing weekly manual updates as I switch between various ways of getting EPG data.

my zap2it info ended today. might be because I didn't run an update on the last day available for it. I was getting 14 days at a time I believe. time to make the change.

A daily update is important for those occasions, as recently, where a "Presidential Address" pops-up or some such that causes the schedules to change on short notice. I update my EPG every day (at 2p I think).

If you accept this rationale, that an update should be made every day, then the # of days you download (every day) maybe depends on your internet connection, i.e. if it is unreliable and you only had a day or two you could run-out of schedule info if you have a couple failed updates in a row.

It seems to me when I first joined zap2it (pre-SD) I could only get 12 days in advance. Dunno what the limit now is; my SD requests are set to 12.
