Using getnamedimage and images of specific sizes

I need to create jpgs of a specific size for a DVD menu. With the old skin helper this was easy since you specified the size in pixels. Now with the size specified relative to the screen this seems harder. Is there a way to specify using the new skinhelper in absolute pixels or do I need to use a mix of old and new skinhelpers?

Why do you nead it a specific size? Surely if one user was running their desktop at 720x480 and another was running at 1920x1200, you'd want both to show a similar relative size rather than absolute pixels. (imagine image showing as a tiny postage stamp at 1920x1200)

Nothing is done in absolute pixels in the application these days, and I havnt found any situation where its needed in the skin files.

In the plugin I'm creating a JPG that is used with FFMPEG to create the menus screens for an SD DVD. I want these to always be 720x480 or 720x576.
I can set the bitmap that I draw on to be the right size, but all of my images get scaled based on my screen size making it harder to make the screens look right.

I dont really understand what you mean, but regardless - the new skinhelper2 stuff doesnt do absolute sizes. You'll need to come up with your own scheme.

Put it this way. As part of the plugin I need to create a specific resolution jpg that I can use to create the menu page of a DVD. (this is a DVD burner plugin) The screen resolution and aspect ratio is not relevant since this is going to be used to create an SD DVD.

Anyway I get your point and it sounds like I either come up with my own scheme or use the legacy skinhelper.
