I have mine set the same way now but it still didn't help. Before I uninstall the codecs on the pc you've been helping me with, I'm going to go thru this process on my other one to see if I can get it to work.

I appreciate the help and will keep you posted.

I have ATI MPEG Video Decoder, Intervideo, 2 copies of Cyberlink (one is ATI), Nero, MPV, and HCW. MPV works the best on my 3200+ but now with some of the suggestions you have given me Nvidia works the best on the 4600+.

Some of them I wouldn't really know how to get them uninstalled.

Let me know what happens. I reinstalled again and it still doesn't come on. I messed around with the detailed settings in Catalyst and still no change. I saw a web page that said if you turn the overclock on, then you get acceleration. That didn't help either (I set the speeds all the way up).

Stu,

Did you try your card again. I had trouble again with mine but it seems to be fixed now. I had it working pretty well but some of the settings in Catalyst must have reset to defaut. I think it had to do with the overclocking. I let Catalyst find the optimum overclocking and now I don't seem to have any of the tearing issues or stuttering. I've watched for a couple of days now and haven't noticed anything.

Let me know how yours goes.

I've got a newer Radion 9550 agp.
The latest catalyst drivers tell me it's an x1000 card.
I use default settings with HDTV out (480i)
The purevideo decoder.
anamorphic is checked.
I also choose smart de-interlacing & told it to use VMR as default.
I then save those settings & change my decoder to default.
I choose VMR9 & i've got no problems at all.

I'm running a 1.2ghz p3 tuatlin with an ATI theatrix 550 on the latest GBPVR & everything is just perfect as can be for me.

Live TV & pausing live TV is smooth.
CPU is around 30 to 40 % with mpeg2 at 720x480.
I mainly use this as a play-back only PC & to record off the Tivo so it doesn't see day to day use.

But, i've been catching up with last season so the last few days it's seen a lot of use & no problems.
