What ZRename does is takes the recording filename and diggs into the GB-PVR database, gets some information there and will even go online and scrape Episode number information. It takes what it gets, does some thinking and then renames the MPG. It then updates that name into the database.

ZRename won't take a filename of a file that was not recorded with GB-PVR.

Included with the download (I think) is another program NetNamer that I wrote. That program only shows episode listing from EpGuides and you are able to 'one click' rename video filenames.

Because it is a scraper, some shows' HTML are not in the standard epguides format, and won't work with NetNamer. That is the same reason why some shows won't rename properly with ZRename.

As you may have read, I do not have the source for those programs any longer. I have been planning on rewriting them. At the moment, while I settle from moving, I don't have the time.

There is also talk that a few of us will be making a more powerful renamer that will also work with xmltv parsing and TV Guide enhancments. I would suspect that if this comes to be, the comunity will have a very powerful utility that will do what you want plus much more.

I'm sorry I can'thelp you much more than that just now.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully a more powerful renamer does come about.
