Good news.

After a complete uninstall and reinstall plus the complete removal of other now-unnecessary apps, I have video and sound.

Now to figure out why no Schedules Direct EPG and to figure out how to live preview without recording.

Many thanks for your help.

Ooops, maybe a quick question ... so I have to enter every DirecTV channel to get the full DirecTV schedule?

Thanks again

Great.

As long as you have the live preview option selected on the misc tab of the config app, then it shouldnt be recording when you watch likve tv.

I have enrolled in SD and selected it in the Capture tab. I have used my email/pw as requested even though my login name is different.

When I click on TV Guide I get only the single channel that I set up under Capture and the data for that is essentially blank. That was what prompted my question. I would like to see all 500+ channels if I choose to but would not like to enter all of them.

Also, I am unable to change any data in Manual Record. I can scroll through the items but can not find a way to edit them. How would I manually schedule a recording of a program that plays tomorrow when all get under manual record is one that starts in the next half-hour and runs for 1 hour.

TIA!

Hit the Update EPG button in the config app, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and I'll take a look.

Go to the Recordings screen. Hit 'Manual Rec' button. You should be able to press the up/down keys to select and item, then left/right keys to set preferences. On the start/stop time fields you can also type a time. for example, 12:05 you'd type 1 2 0 5.

Thanks. Got both figured out. I'd forgotten to download the background.dll patch and after fooling around with keys for the manual record I go that fixed too.

The only open issue I see is the EPG while showing the correct time is not correctly aligned. All programming is running one hour ahead of when it should be. I'm search the forum right now.

I have the all XP updates including the current DST patch but my EPG is still off by an hour. Guess I'll wait until the morning and see what happens.

Another minor issue. I have a widescreen monitor and have set up GB-PVR as such and for a while Live TV was displaying properly with black bars on either side. Then I did a few restarts of GB-PVR while working on the EPG problem and now the horizontal is stretched to full width.

Any thoughts on how to get it back to 4:3 even though it's displaying on 16:9?

Thanks

Listing times are converted to local time at the time the EPG is updated. If you later try to change your PC timezone (or patches relating to it), then you need to do an 'empty epg' followed by an 'update epg' to clean out any listings that were imported when your timezone was incorrect.

First, make sure you've explicitly specified your video decoders rather than relying on 'system default'. Also press F7 a few times until you're on the 'Auto' aspect ratio.

This will be my last post on this thread.

What a difference a day makes especially when that day includes a switch to standard time.

Today my program guide is right on and for some strange reason the text presentation in the TV Guide is great as well. Yesterday many programs were over writing the next item. I did nothing. Just turned it on this afternoon and all is well.

Next step will be to build a USB-Serial-Low Speed port cable so I can control my DirecTV D10 receiver with GB-PVR.

Many thanks, Sub. There will be a little something in the PalPay account tomorrow.
