I have a chance to swap my x700 pro with a friend who has a 6800 gs oc. Right now i get gittery playback of hd in gbpvr, but hd will play in media player classic just fine. I am currently using the purvideo decoder, and was just wondering if having an nVidia card would be better with a nVidia decoder. Also will i be better or worse off with a 6800? Thanks for your help.

look up the clock speeds for the x700...that's why it's a bit under powered..pretty slow actually...
plays ok in mpc cuz it's using cpu mostly, not gpu...and probably overlay output.

i'd say use a util and overclock it but it's so slow you couldn't get much...
the x1000+ cards are ok, but on all cards, check the memory and gpu clock speeds before buying.. the 6800 OC is overclocked already so should be a screamer mhz wise..
i wasn't impressed with one i played with but it was a slower ver. and i didn't have much ime with it..

and yes, the nvidia decoder will work differently on the nvidia card..Smile
