It would be nice to have a keyword phrases set up that automatically record matches to a shows description or title. Eg: using the word "car" as the keyword I would expect it to record all shows that have the word "car" but not "cartoon" in the title. Wildcards could be used for broader matches as well as boolean filters such as "car AND show". I would like to see it as a "sticky" event that does not have to reset.

One of the plugins used to be able to do this. Don't remember which one it was, though.

The EWA has this functionality. I use it and it works quite fine. I am not sure how far the search logic has been implemented though.

The only thing at this moment is that the search and/or schedule operation only runs when accessing the EWA. There is a discussion ongoing about this and UnclJohnsBand is looking in making a little service that automatically does the scheduling in the background.

That page on the EWA is nice but a bit awkward to use since you have to guess as to what it is doing. Nowhere does it mention that it can record from the advanced find.

I am unclear as to where this processing is taking place. Once a search is set up does EWA have to be enabled or running 24/7 ? I normally leave EWA disabled.

Also, if the processing is done by the GBPVR executables and not the EWA then it would be a nice addition to the normal GBPVR configuration utility.

I use CDK Scheduler for doing that sort of stuff.

This beta works fine for me... You need to enable Auto Record in the config tab and specify the number of days ahead you want EWA to search (I set it to the limit of my EPG), then in the Episode Search tab, create a search and save it with auto record option set...

Then when you connect to EWA, so long as it's more than an hour after the EPG was last loaded, EWA will search and schedule recordings based on your auto record saved searches.

Currently you need to connect to EWA to trigger the auto record feature (you can do this either locally or remotely), but as mentioned earlier in the thread, there has been a request to automate this process. Since automation would be the cherry on the top for this feature, I'm sure someone will come up with a way to do it even if UncleJohnsBand decides not to.
