I currently have a Nvidia 6600 AGP card using the Purevideo decoders which provides good playback with FSE and Overlay modes, but not with VMR9 Custom. In VMR9 I get missed frames resulting in jerky playback when displaying in 1920 x 1080 resolution. Lower resolutions work okay (13xx x 768), however this is not possible with my current TV.

Can anyone tell me if they are having any success at higher resolutions with the ATI X1300 Pro card, and if so, what decoders they are using? It turns out I can pick up one of these cards pretty cheap from a friend.

Since it's from a friend, probably best to see if you can borrow it and try it out.

I'm using an ATI x1600 Pro w/ an AMD 2500 running at 1920x1080i with excellent results. Interestingly enough, I get much lower CPU usage using the NVidia PureVideo decoder with it than ATI's decoder.

Like you, I couldn't get 1080i running smoothly on my AGP 6200. Just not enough muscle.

I forgot to mention - the card has support for TV out but it does not include the cable. I would have to order one from somewhere. Otherwise, yes, I would definitely try it out.

if you mean the svideo out just a regular cable will do..
not sure if that one has enough muscle, what are the clock times on it? [gpu/mem]
i know my x1550 barely runs HD well, x1600 really recommended...[at least by ATI] i have 550 gpu and 400x2 mem [800] also AGP
and i think that one should be close...Smile

i would agree best decoders will be ati avivo and nvidia purevideo..
[most acceleration and quality]

still, trying it out would be best bet..Big Grin
Hardware: HDHR Prime, HDPVR 1212, Raspberry pi2, VFD display w/LCDSmartie
