sub, could you explain how the Genres, Programme_genres, and Programmes Tables work together.

Also, I have a ton of crap in my genres table. It's built up over a long time. How did it get there? And if I programmatically clear those tables, will they get filled again on the next EPG update...

And to everyone, are there a hand full of genres and sort of standard colours that might be used for the genres?

The exact details are a little hazy in my memory but basically each programme has zero or more programme_genre records relating it to zero or more genre. These records are created during the EPG importation process.

You can safely delete the contents of the programme_genre then genre tables, and they'll be reinserted in at the next EPG update. There is a command line parameter to pvrx2.exe that will do this, but I'm not home at the moment to check what exactly it is.

And to everyone, are there a hand full of genres and sort of standard colours that might be used for the genres?

I dont like the genre colouring, so I didnt bother adding any default colours.
