Widescreen Signalling (Line 23 and SCART)

Would it be possible to implement this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Widescreen_signaling

As far as I am aware, line 23 of PAL is the first line of the image. So, if the first line of the PVRX2 GUI was encoded to this specification, TVs could be controlled automatically. The config.xml could even have a field for the control bits in the AspectRatios section.

Another option would be to use the parallel port to toggle PIN 8 of a SCART connector to enable widescreen signalling based on some field in config.xml (I've this set up myself, using a toggle switch instead of the parallel port because I want the GBPVR box SCART to be on widescreen 99% of the time).

Sorry, but this isnt the sort of thing GB-PVR would do. GB-PVR doesnt touch the picture that is sent from the decoder to the video renderer, and I dont intend to start doing this in the future.

I'm also not in a country that uses scart or line 23 wide screen signalling, so its not something of much interest to me.

If the original broadcast contains this info, then you might get lucky and it'll still be present on playback of that recording.
