Cannot get 100% CPU usage on P4 with Hyperthreading

Hi,

I'm using Zprocess2 to control the transcoding to my MVP and I'm only getting 50% cpu usage from mencoder.exe. Both "cores" (windows shows as 2 cpus in task manager) are at half load so I'm wondering how to get up to 100% so that transcoding finishes sooner.

Perhaps this is just an issue with mencoder?

Important details:
MPlayer 1.0rc1
GBPVR v1.1.5
MVPMC MVP dongle (recommended dongle by mvallevand for GBPVR)

As far as I know, 50% usage on both cores is 100% for muti-threaded code on Hyperthreaded P4's. Try have it transcode and then load another task you'll probably see one of the cores spike higher than 50%, this as far as I know is hyperthreading on the core kicking in.

Thanks for the information. I will try switching to FFMPEG to see if it makes a difference since CPU usage always went to 100% before I switched to Zprocess...so I think it may be mencoder.

What is the CPU Priority set at in ZProcess?
