There are a ton of cheap DVB-T USB sticks around based on the Afatech AF9015 chipset. There are many different brands but you can tell if yours is this chipset by looking in the device manager for a "AF9015 BDA" device.
So for the past year I've been trying to get one of these devices to work with GBPVR. I finally found out how to do it. It seems that GBPVR detects the AF9015 device but whenever I tried to tune it gave a NullPointer exception. I think the reason is due to a registry indirection problem?
Hunting around the web I found this post...

I followed the steps outlined and tweaked my registry entries and all of a sudden GBPVR can tune channels with the AF9015 BDA filter.
FYI the supplied HDTV player works fine with this chipset and so too does WebScheduler. So I don't know if this is a logical inconsistency in the GBPVR implementation (Media Portla also looks to have the same issue) or a bad BDA driver?
Anyway, I hope that link helps anyone else with the same type of card.
