What can and can't be done?

Hi,

Just started using GBPVR, and I'm impressed. I have a program which I use for managing TV I have downloaded, remembering which episode I'm up to, letting me know which series have new eps to watch. 1 click watch of the next ep of a series etc etc. I'd like to put a front end on it so I can access it from GBPVR main menu. Is this possible? What restrictions are there on what can and can't be done? Can someone recommend a sample simple plugin to start with?

What exactly are you looking for?

From a plugin, you can:

• Read from a database
  
• Display data in the form of labels, text boxes, images
  
• Receive user input in the form of keystroke, mouse click and remote control events
  
• Launch processes to play/view video files, music files, image files,...
  
• Represent the user interface in the form of a 'skin' file which is xml based.

The easiest way to start is to load up one of the sample plugins that sub provides, or the tutorial plugin in Wiz Developer Utilities.

If you have specific questions, there are several developers who are usually glad to share their experiences and provide direction for solving specific questions...
