Sorry, I cant help you on the PS3 side of that, but I'll continue to talk to the PCH manufacturer about getting this audio working on theie device. There is a lot of potential problems with trying to convert the audio, so I'd prefer the manufacturer to support playback natively.

Didn't expect you would :-) Just a note that gbpvr is able to capture the streams so it would be good if the media players out there (including the PCH and PS3) could play them.

Slightly OT but if PlayTV ever comes to a region with those strange audio formats in their DVB-T broadcasts, then there is going to have to be a firmware release made to support them. That's one advantage of the PS3 I guess - powerful enough to do most anything.

I do consider the PS3 as a mvpmc candidate. I found it too noisy for me when the fan is on though but I've only heard it in stores. I've heard that heat especially putting in a contained space would be a concern and that would be an issue for me.

I know that some people are putting fans in their PCH's too, but as a test I ran 12hours+ of 1080i live ATSC yesterday and video was as good as when I started so I don't see the need I was actually very impressed with how GB-PVR and mono handled this test.

It'd probably be quite a bit easier for you now given the work you've done with DirectFB for the NMT binaries. Just replace mono with mplayer.

They have made good progress with the YDL mplayer so hopefully they will be ready when I am. I already had a prototype of mplayer running with emulation mode for linux so that isn't a stretch at all. What I didn't know is all the mplayer OSD can be drawn with DirectFB.

Instead of PayPal donations I need something like "DayPal" though, to give me more time for all this.

Yep - I know that feel. There so many things I'd love to do, and would have no problems implementing, but have no spare time to do...
