Nice Job - NMT implementation looks promising!

My TV set just supports 480p, 576p, 1080i, 1152i. I have problems running mvpmcx2. The only working mode is 1080i @ 60Hz but would prefer 480 or 576 because 1080 looks fuzzy. Ideal would be 720p x 576p @ 50Hz.

Using latest mvpmcx2 - dated 27.03.08 and latest PCH FW 23.2.08

mvpmcx2 -m 720 // error - this mode is not supported by my TV set
mvpmcx2 -m 1080 // Ok but fuzzy @ 60Hz
mvpmcx2 -m 1080 --edtv // no difference still 1080i @ 60 and fuzzy
mvpmcx2 -m 1080 --frequency 50 // error - 1080i @ 50 is supported but doesn't work
mvpmcx2 -m 1080 --edtv --frequency 50 // error

Using --edtv has no effect at all. What I'm doing wrong? Is there a way to start up with 720x480 or 720x576?

I would suggest the following ensuring you have the latest patches to GB-PVR and mvpmcx2 installed. Remember to first change config.xml and restart the recording service when you change the size.

Change config.xml to 720 and 576

-m 1080 --edtv --frequency 50 --display 720x576

-m 1080 --edtv --display 720x576

You can then repeat changing 576 to 480

Unfortunately I don't have an edtv compatible monitor to test this on. If it doesn't work I would need a telnet capture with you running the option you prefer.

There is a system error saying that hdmi and 50mhz aren't allowed and I don't think I have information on how to avoid this. Does 60mhz look ok?

Yes. 60Hz looks ok but havin other problems. LiveTV sometimes stops playing and when going back to the TVguide windows the play button is missing. Device seems to be busy.

By design Live TV stops and restarts when a program changes and this change takes about 5-10 seconds. You should not hit any keys during this time. Losing the ability to play also could be related to having a recording of another program starting. The next time this happens could you zip up the log files in the log folder C:\Program Files\devnz\GBPVR\logs and sub and I will have a look.

Martin,

Is there one "-" too many in that display line?
