A long time ago I bought an ATI TV Wonder Tuner for cheap and toyed around to see what I could do. I was unable to get it set up using any type of Media Center software (which is how I know of GB-PVR). I am running an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ Barton 2.1GHz, 1.5gig Corsair XMS DDR RAM, ASUS A7N8X-Delux Mobo and an Asylum Nvidia Geforce 5900 Ultra on Windows XP ProSP2. I still have that tuner and am thinking about trying again but I was just wondering what I might expect considering my setup. Ideally I would like to have a setup that could handle HD-PVR'ing but since I cannot, in good conscience, upgrade components that are out of date with components that are slightly less out of date I am stuck with what I have. For now I am fine with just the ability to record a standard/analog TV show... so what do you guys think? Do I have something to work with or should I give up on my endeavors until I can buy/build an up do date system?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Sorry but this card is not compatible with GB-PVR. It doesnt have the required hardware MPEG2 encoder.

It will work fine for analog. Not sure about hd. My 2600+ is pretty much maxed out with HD playback. Does your capture card have a digital tuner?

Wow thanks for the quick response. I may be able to get a new tuner this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815100035

actually caught my eye. It looks like it may work with what I have and will do what I want it to when I can upgrade my system. But I don't know how well a USB device will work.

That device also lacks the required hardware MPEG2 encoder, so isnt usable for analog. It does have ATSC so would be usable for Over-The-Air ATSC.

If you want analog tv, then get a common card like the Hauppauge PVR150. If you want Analog + Digital, then get common card like the Hauppauge HVR1600.
